"Too hot/Too cold"

Melissa Gutierrez
4/28/14

Metal heats up faster than water, because metal is a solid and water is a liquid. This is because water and liquid have certain heat levels so for water it would take longer (more energy) to heat up as opposed to metal that has a short level. Lastly something that heats up super faster than water and metal would be sand. Sand heats up faster because it has a lower heat capacity by a lot than water and its only the first few top inches that heat up quickly. This concludes three different substances that heat up at different rates.

“Doppler Radar”

4/9/15

Doppler Weather Radars are how meteorologists find out the weather forecast for the week. This is helped by finding patterns and trends.
Waves are used to show whats happening in the weather in terms of electromagnetic Radiation.
"Electron radiation is released as photons, which are bundles of light energy that travel at the speed of light as quantized harmonic waves. This energy is then grouped into categories based on its wavelength into the electromagnetic spectrum."
This is what I got off a site, now to me this is what the Electron Radiation does, and how it creates an Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Interferences

Today in class we had to learn the difference between Constructive and Destructive Interference.
Now, Constructive Interference is when two waves will hit each other and the troughs will be positioned with each other to make a bigger wave this only happens for a moment and when the waves pass by each other they'll go back to their original amplitude. In a Destructive Interference the crest and trough of two waves will be positioned to make the wave's amplitude smaller. When the waves hits the wave'll be smaller for a moment before the waves pass by and act as if nothing happened. In my life, something that really interferes in my life that makes a big impact are my grades. I always have to make sure they're at least at an A-. It makes an impact on how my family is viewed and how I want to succeed in my life. Something that makes is a small interference that makes a small impact in my life is when i don't show up somewhere, i know that i can come back anytime, that they'll be times I'm busy but i can make that up.

"Standing Waves"

Ms.Reid
4/9/15

Today in class, we did a Lab involving Standing Waves. Now Standing Waves are waves that look like they're moving but they're actually not. Ms.Reid held the huge slinky from one side of the classroom and tied it up about 6 meters away. We had a few practice runs and filled in a chart in order to do the math and average. But we had to calculate whether Frequency and Wavelength were related, and to see if these thing affected the wave speed or not, in which it didn't.
